Newcastle United’s first seven games compared to previous seasons and photos of memorable moments
It has been a mixed start to the new Premier League season for Eddie Howe and his players.
It is difficult to know what to make of Newcastle United’s first seven games of the Premier League season.
On one hand, they have only suffered one defeat, and that came in controversial circumstances as Fabio Carvalho’s late strike condemned Eddie Howe’s side to a heartbreaking loss at Liverpool.
On the other hand, the Magpies have only won one of those seven games, and that came on the opening day of the campaign as goals from Fabian Schar and Callum Wilson gave their side a 2-0 home victory against newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.
It has really been a case of what might have been, with Howe’s men drawing their other five games against Brighton and Hove Albion, Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
That has left United sat in mid-table as we head into the international break and they will hope to start an improved run of form when they visit Fulham on Saturday week.
But how does their first seven games of the season compare to previous seasons since the Magpies returned to the Premier League?
