Newcastle United’s line-up v West Ham confirmed: Alexander Isak & Allan Saint-Maximin calls made

Newcastle United’s confirmed line-up to face West Ham United in the Premier League at St James’ Park.

Allan Saint-Maximin starts against West Ham United in one enforced change to Newcastle United’s starting XI.

Bruno Guimaraes’ red card in the Carabao Cup semi-final win over Southampton on Tuesday means the Brazilian is suspended for the next three games.

As a result, Joelinton moves back into the three-man midfield and Saint-Maximin starts on the left wing in what is his first Premier League start since August.

“Allan’s been very good,” Howe said yesterday. “He’s understood, I think, the difficult situation that I’ve found myself in where I’ve kept a very consistent team because the team has performed at a very high level and results have been in the main very good. I think he’s understood but also been very keen to show his talent and his worth.

“This is potentially, with Bruno suspended, an opportunity for Allan amongst other players. But I’ll back his quality, I love him as a footballer and as a person. He’s a huge player for us and he’ll be massive between now and the end of the season.”

New signing Anthony Gordon is on the bench, but Harrison Ashby misses out. There’s also no Alexander Isak after he suffered a head injury in midweek.
