Newcastle United have made a habit of coming from behind to win in recent months as Eddie Howe’s men close in on sealing a Premier League top-four finish.

The Magpies trailed against Southampton on Sunday afternoon following Stuart Armstrong’s 41st-minute opener before Callum Wilson inspired a turnaround in the second half.

Similar happened at Brentford last month. Ivan Toney handed the Bees the lead but an own goal from David Raya and a stunning strike from Alexander Isak flipped the result on its head. Isak was also at the heart of United’s comeback at Nottingham Forest in March, as his brace cancelled out Emmanuel Dennis’ goal.

Those comebacks have put Newcastle on the cusp of securing Champions League football for next season, with Howe’s side needing three wins from their remaining five games to guarantee it.
