Newcastle United's £2m weekly wage bill according to Football Manager 2023 - gallery

Who are Newcastle United's highest earners according to Football Manager 2024?

Newcastle United embarked on an expensive and much-needed overhaul of their squad from the moment the PIF-led consortium took over at St James Park.

The Magpies were sat languishing in the Premier League relegation zone and were without a win to their name when the prolonged takeover process finally came to a successful conclusion on a memorable October evening in 2021.

The following transfer windows saw big money additions such as Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon all added to Eddie Howe's squad and several existing members of the Magpies ranks were rewarded with improved contracts as they played a part in a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

It seems increasingly likely further additions will be made during the January transfer window as United look to aid themselves in their battle with an injury list that has decimated Howe's squad.

But what impact has the squad strengthening made on the Magpies wage bill? We fired up the world's most popular managerial simulation to see what Football Manager 2024's impressive band of researchers believes Newcastle are paying out for their squad.
