Newcastle United’s staggering points dropped total - compared to Leeds, Everton & others
Newcastle United dropping points from winning positions has been one of the many stories from the club’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
In 10 different matches this season, the Magpies have taken the lead and either been forced to settle for a draw or worse, lose completely.
That’s what happened at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Antonio Conte’s men ran riot after half-time.
Fabian Schar’s free-kick on 38 minutes handed Eddie Howe’s side a shock lead but the hosts restored parity less than four minutes later.
Then, goals from Matt Doherty, Son Heung-min, Emerson Royal and Steven Bergwijn inflicted a heavy defeat on United, who remain nine points above the relegation zone.
So, just how many points have Newcastle dropped from winning positions this season, and how does their tally compare to other Premier League clubs?
NewcastleWorld takes a look and just as a pre-warning, the total is staggering:

1. Manchester City – 0 points (20th)
The current Premier League leaders are yet to drop a point since taking the lead in matches this campaign.

2. Brighton and Hove Albion – 2 points (19th)
Graham Potter’s side have dropped just two points from winning positions, though have won just one of their last 11 games.

3. Norwich City – 5 points (18th)
The Canaries, who are rock bottom of the Premier League, have led six times in games this season, winning four.

4. Tottenham Hotspur – 5 points (17th)
Antonio Conte’s side are fresh from coming behind to hammer Newcastle 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.
