Newcastle United made it six straight Premier League wins at St James' Park with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday evening, but it looks to have come at some cost.
Magpies goalkeeper Nick Pope dislocated his shoulder in the 86th minute when dived for Sergio Reguilon's shot that was blocked by Fabian Schar.
Pope immediately signalled for the game to be stopped so he could receive treatment from the physios. He was withdrawn pretty swiftly with Martin Dubrvaka brought on off the bench.
It's now feared Pope could be sidelined long-term amid the possibility of undergoing surgery.
Speaking after the game, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "That’s the disappointment on the night. It looks like he’s dislocated his shoulder. Such a strange thing really because he’d have made that dive thousands of times. It just looks like the arm’s kept going on the moist floor and his shoulder has come out of joint.
"We’re going to have to seek a specialist opinion and see what happens but it doesn't look good for him.”
Meanwhile, goalscorer Gordon was also spotted limping at the end. Howe has been forced to name the same starting XI for the last three matches because of injuries but the players have served him well.
In the last seven days, Newcastle have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United, and came minutes away from winning in Paris but for a controversial Kylian Mbappe penalty in the 98th minute.
