Newcastle United have unveiled their fresh home shirt for the 2022/23 season - and while the kit is new, the club’s long-standing sponsorship deal with Fun88 remains.
Speculation had been rife, particularly on social media, that the Magpies would switch up their main kit deal this summer in order to further boost the club’s spending power.

However, contractual obligations with Chinese betting firm Fun88 prevented that - and the sponsor will remain emblazaoned across the club’s famous black and white shirt, which in the launch pics is modelled by the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier.
Fun88 first signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the club in 2017, when the managing director Lee Charnley flew to China to sign the contract. That was further extended in 2020 and what was described as a “long term deal” was signed.

While the main shirt sponsor remains the same, NewcastleWorld understands links to a new sleeve sponsor do carry some weight, with Visit Botswana a candidate to take the slot.
