Nottingham Forest injury crisis ahead of Newcastle United tie — nine-goal star among three doubts
Nottingham Forest could be without up to 10 senior players for Friday night’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United.
Nottingham Forest’s brutal injury situation was worsened after Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds are battling to retain their Premier League status, and manager Steve Cooper has had to deal with a lengthy injury list throughout the 2022-23 campaign.
Unfortunately for Cooper, that list increased at the weekend when his side lost in North London after a brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Heung-min Son.
Indeed, Friday’s clash between Forest and Newcastle United at the City Ground is a big game for both clubs. The hosts are aiming to go five points above the relegation zone, while the Magpies know a win will take them within one point of fourth place Spurs.
Eddie Howe’s side will be without the likes of Joelinton (suspended) and Anthony Gordon (ankle). Forest, meanwhile, could miss up to 10 senior players through injury. We take a look at the players ruled out, and those who are doubts.
