Newcastle United will hope to get their Champions League qualification charge back on track with a win against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Newcastle were third in the Premier League table at the start of last weekend but their 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa, coupled with wins for Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, has saw them drop two places to fifth.
Forest won 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening and Man City, after beating 2-0 at Everton on Saturday, recorded another victory last night after Matheus Nunes’ late winner earned a 2-1 victory over Villa.
As it stands, Man City, Forest and Newcastle occupy the Champions League qualification spots but with just four points separating third to seventh, there is still time for plenty of twists and turns.
In a world where statistics dominate the football agenda, British gurus Opta emerged as the leading stat geeks in an increasingly crowded field. An official Premier League partnership - as well as the internet explosion - saw them become a trusted source for everything you never needed to know about the beautiful game.
Now an Opta-powered supercomputer has predicted the outcome of the top five battle.
