Newcastle United can move to within one round of a place at Wembley when they host Leicester City at St James Park in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night.
Eddie Howe’s men have battled their way past a scare at League Two club Tranmere Rovers and overcome Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Bournemouth to reach the last eight of the competition for the tenth time in their history. Yet the events of the past will not inspire confidence as United look to move into a bright new future as the Magpies look to end the club’s long wait for silverware over the coming months.
