Player announces he has signed a two-year deal with Newcastle United

Newcastle United have further strengthened their academy ranks.

A young goalkeeper has announced he has joined Newcastle United on a two-year scholarship.

Adrian Janusz, formerly of National League side Gateshead and Northern League Division One outfit Ashington, is set to bolster the club’s academy ranks.

“Proud to sign a 2 years scholarship with @NUFC excited for the next couple of years,” Janusz tweeted.

“Thank you to everyone @GatesheadFC @GatesheadFCAcad & @Ashington_FC for making this happen.”

Janusz, who made seven appearances for Ashington, kept a clean sheet on his debut in September aged 16.

Newcastle continue to strengthen its academy ranks after a busy summer on Tyneside.

The under-21s welcomed the arrivals of Jude Smith, Alex Murphy, Amadou Diallo and Jordan Hackett, while highly-rated Scottish defender Charlie McArthur has linked up with the under-18s.
