Hide AdIt’s been reported by talkSPORT that the Gunners will announce the news this week once Nelson has returned from holiday.
Football Transfers reported over the weekend that Newcastle had touched base with Nelson’s representatives to ask about his situation.
He is, however, prepared to stay in North London, despite not starting a single Premier League match last season. In total, he made 11 appearances and scored three goals.
Nelson, who is close friends with Magpies midfielder Joe Willock, came through the academy at Arsenal before making his senior debut in 2017.
He has spent time on loan at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord whilst making 66 appearances for the Gunners.
