Where Newcastle, Brighton & Crystal Palace sit in final predicted Premier League table

A 1-0 win for Eddie Howe’s side over Crystal Palace has put them 15 points clear of the relegation zone and just one away from moving into the top half of the table.

Newcastle United look to be all but safe from relegation and still have a chance of a top half finish this season

Newcastle United are all set for another season in the Premier League with one more win likely to be enough to mathematically secure their survival.

What remains to be seen is just how far up the table Eddie Howe can lead the Magpies with the club currently sitting 11th. With just five games remaining the possibility is still technically there to secure European football next season - although that would be very unlikely.

A realistic goal could be to end the 2021/22 campaign in the top half of the table and they are currently only sitting outside of it on goal difference.

Brighton sit above Newcastle on the same points but with a -11 goal difference to United’s -18 while Leicester City are just one point above both in ninth place but have a far better goal difference of -4 and also have two games in hand.

The St James’ Park side also need to look over their shoulder with just three points separating them from 14th place Crystal Palace with Brentford and Southampton sandwiched in between.

Here is how the Premier League table currently looks based on each teams chances of either winning the title, finishing in the top four, finishing in the top half or being relegated:
