Newcastle United head into the three-week international break in good spirits following their 2-1 win over Hull City.
Matthias Jaissle’s side blew Hull City away early doors with two goals inside the opening seven minutes from Joe Willock and Lewis Hall. It should have been game over by half-time but Yoane Wissa saw his penalty saved by goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.
The Magpies began to tire in the second half but Jaissle had limited options from the bench with several key players ruled out of the match through injury.
Mohamed-Ali Cho pulled one back in the 67th minute and the Tigers pushed hard for an equaliser, however Jaissle’s side managed to hold out to claim a first Premier League home win of the campaign.
It’s been a strong start to the term for Newcastle with eight points from the opening five matches, but how high up can they finish this season? Premier League data experts Opta have predicted the final table - and here’s where the Magpies finish.
