The Premier League has issued a rare apology to supporters of its 20 clubs.

The Premier League has apologised to Newcastle United supporters after re-arranging their January fixtures at short notice.

The clash with Fulham at St James’ Park, originally scheduled for a 3pm Saturday kick-off, has been moved to Sunday, January 15, with kick-off at 2pm live on Sky Sports.

Also, the visit to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday, January 21 has been pushed back, changing from a 3pm to a 5:30pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, the likes of Leeds United, Aston Villa and Arsenal were also impacted. The TV picks for December and January were originally due to be released in October.

Premier League issues apology

“The Premier League fixtures that have been selected for live television broadcast in the United Kingdom in January 2023 have been released.

“The Premier League apologises to supporters for the delay in announcing these fixtures and understands their frustrations. Finalising these particular selections took longer than expected due to difficulties obtaining relevant local stakeholder approvals.
