The controversial system flipped a number of key decisions for Newcastle United last season.
Eleventh. Newcastle United managed to scrape together an 11th-placed Premier League finish from a seemingly dead Premier League season.
And how did they do it? Well, January window additions helped, as did the PIF takeover, but the biggest factor in the Magpies’ mid-season revival was the transformation of style and substance brought to the club by Eddie Howe following the waffle and wild disappointments of previous incumbent Steve Bruce.
But could it have been even better?
