For some it will forever be enshrined in the vision they see of Newcastle United. For others it will be much more transient than that.

St James’ Park, United fans’ cathedral on the hill, is in need of some serious TLC.

And the words, from Saudi finance minister and Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia board member Mohammed Al-Jadaan, certainly seem encouraging, with stadium investment at the forefront of what the club’s new owners want to do.

But how important is the ground to fans in the grand scheme of things, is a relocation potentially acceptable and what about any possible renaming?
