Newcastle had reportedly held an interest in bringing the midfielder to Tyneside this month, but those rumours have cooled after the Magpies signed Brazilian international Bruno Guimaraes, and continue to remain keen on Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.
Alli could still end up at another Premier League club today, with Crystal Palace and Everton rumoured to be vying for his signature.
Palace want to sign the England midfielder on loan, and Everton want to buy the 25-year-old.
