Joelinton is OUT of Newcastle United’s clash at Southampton - as Bruno Guimaraes makes his full debut.

Eddie Howe has been forced into one change from the 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday with Joelinton injured.

NewcastleWorld understands the 25-year-old has picked up a slight thigh tweak.

It’s a blow for United with Joelinton becoming an unlikely midfield general since Howe arrived in November.

The good news is United fans will finally see £35million January signing Guimaraes from the off.

Guimaraes has had to be patient to earn his first start after making five substitute appearances against Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Brentford and Brighton.

There’s no Allan Saint-Maximin in the Magpies matchday squad through illness.

Howe revealed on Wednesday the Frenchman was not “100% fit” after a recent calf injury.

Saint-Maximin missed away games at West Ham and Brentford before playing coming off the bench versus Brighton for the final half hour.
