Second Newcastle United player ruled out of AFC Bournemouth clash after training ground incident

Eddie Howe has named his Newcastle United starting XI for the Premier League visit to former club AFC Bournemouth.

And it features two changes from opening day win over Southampton. The Magpies played an hour with 10 men after Fabian Schar was sent off for clashing with Ben Brereton Diaz. The club appealed the decision but it was upheld by the FA.

That sees Emil Krafth step in for Schar, partnering Dan Burn in the centre of defence. The second change sees Lloyd Kelly start against his old club less than two months after leaving, coming in for Lewis Hall at left-back.

Meanwhile, John Ruddy replaces Martin Dubravka on the bench after the Slovakian suffered a concussion in training this week.

"It's a fixture that means a lot to us as staff because of our time with the football club but I think it's never been any different,” said Howe on the trip to the Vitality Stadium. “When you turn up for a game, you're there to win and to give your best, trying to do everything you can to get an all important three points for us currently.

"That will never change and never has changed. Hopefully, the focus is on the game and should be on the players that we have, and their players, competing against each other for what is a really important stage of the season.

"We have to try and start well, getting momentum in our season and we're thinking of nothing else but that."
