Newcastle United transfer target Dominik Szoboszlai has taken to social media to drop a hint about his future, despite shutting down press queries about the same topic.

The RB Leipzig winger has been linked with a summer move to Tyneside, with Eddie Howe desperate to add top level quality to his ranks, particularly in the forward areas.

Howe's Magpies are set to return to Champions League football for the first time since 2003 next season - and Szoboszlai has made it clear that's where he intends to play. Although, the message could well be pointing towards remaining at Leipzig, given that their 3-1 win at Bayern Munich also confirmed that Champions League football will be played in East Germany next season.

Taking to Instagram, the Hungarian said: "See you again soon @championsleague! ☠️🆑"

Szoboszlai was in no mood to answer direct questions on where he will play his football next season post-match.

The gathered German press asked the 22-year-old about what the future holds and his terse response was in stark contrast to his previous approach.

Szoboszlai simply said: "Next question."

When previously quizzed on the same topic, the player has been more than content to talk.

When asked if he'd stay at Leipzig, his earlier response was: "I didn’t say that. We still have three games [remaining this season]. For those three games I’m definitely still at RB Leipzig. I want to play in the Champions League. We will see what happens after the summer."

In the aftermath of Newcastle's 4-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last week, a win which took United to the brink of a top four finish, Szoboszlai liked an Instagram post from account 433 which stated: "Newcastle are ONE win away from qualification."
