It’s been a busy start to the summer transfer window for Newcastle United - with further signings set to follow.
Eddie Howe’s side kicked off their summer transfer business with the arrival of Matt Targett on permanent basis from Aston Villa.
The Magpies were linked with Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi but Targett’s form during his successful loan spell last season made his £15million signing a no brainer.
Next through the door was England international Nick Pope.
While sources in Manchester insisted Dean Henderson was on his way to Tyneside, Newcastle quietly went about their business in completing a deal for Pope.
United paid around £12million to Burnley to recruit Pope, who will now rival Martin Dubravka for the No.1 jersey.
Then, on Tuesday evening, Newcastle confirmed the arrival of the man they so desperately wanted - Lille defender Sven Botman.
A six-month long chase ended in delight for the Magpies, who beat Italian champions AC Milan to his signature to put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
A more than productive start to the window for Newcastle but they aren’t finished there.

1. Hugo Ekitike - could join

2. Dominic Calvert-Lewin - unlikely to join

3. Armando Broja - could join
