However, it’s claimed French club Marseille have joined the race, and Vitinha is considering Marseille’s advances.

Vitinha, recognised as one of Portugal’s best young prospects, progressed through Braga’s academy and signed his first professional contract in 2020.
He made his senior debut in February 2021. In total, Vitinha has scored 28 goals in 67 games, including 13 in 27 this campaign.
Vitinha has represented Portugal at under-18s and under-21s, playing alongside former Newcastle target Goncalo Ramos and Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho.

In better news for Southampton fans, Nathan Jones’ side have reached an agreement to sign Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana - according to The Athletic.
The Saints are due to pay £22m up front with a further £2.6m in add-ons. Sulemana will undergo his medical and sign a four-year deal at St Mary’s.
