Supporters urge Newcastle United to ‘be bold’ with mammoth bid for Euro 2024 breakout star


Newcastle United supporters are demanding Toon chiefs sign Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer.

The 23-year-old has made the most saves (20) in Germany and pulled off arguably the best of the tournament against Portugal. Georgia qualified for the knockout stages at their first-ever major tournament - with Mamardashvili grabbing the plaudits.
Newcastle fans have taken to social media in recent days to urge the St James’ Park hierarchy into a “bold” deal. One post read: “€35million is a more than reasonable fee considering Kepa and Onana cost north of £50million. Be bold Newcastle. A ready-made No.1 there for the taking.”

Hide AdAnother was left stunned by Mamardashvili’s save to deny Diogo Dalot from distance. The fan posted: “Save of the tournament so far. It'll be a huge mistake if we don't push the boat out and try to sign Mamardashvili for £35million.
“That's only £15million more than Trafford. In a season or two his value will be double that, easy.”
