After spending pre-season with Eddie Howe’s first-team, where he travelled to Germany and Japan before making his senior St James’ Park debut, Miley was loaned to League Two side Newport County to continue his development.
However, an injury-hit spell restricted him to just eight appearances and the Magpies decided to recall him last week by activating a break clause in his loan agreement.

National League side Hartlepool United have been linked with Miley, while clubs in the Football League are also understood to have shown interest.
“Jamie's done brilliant. He came back in. He played on Friday [at Southampton]. He was a shining light in the performance,” said under-21s manager Diarmuid O'Carroll. “He's been brilliant around the group. He's a really good boy. Obviously gets on really well with the lads.
“A talented footballer, like everything, just wants to find a home and get a run of games and get a little bit of confidence in the right team around him. So whether that's here for the second half of the season or out again or wherever he goes.

Newcastle have already loaned out three players from O’Carroll’s squad this month with Alex Murphy joining Bolton Wanderers, Charlie McArthur linking up with Carlisle United and Travis Hernes moving to Danish side AaB.
