Ten brilliant pictures Newcastle United fans will love of wild celebrations against Leicester City

Newcastle United continued their impressive form with a dramatic late win against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon - and the drama on the pitch was matched by celebratory scenes in the stands.

A pre-match Wor Flags display paid tribute to former Magpies striker David Kelly and his crucial late winner in United’s 1-0 win against Portsmouth back in April 1992.

Although Bruno Guimaraes’ injury-time header may not have saved Eddie Howe’s from relegation into the third tier, there can be no doubt the Brazilian is well on his way to becoming as popular a figure as Kelly was in his heyday at St James Park.

It had all seemed so very different when Ademola Lookman fired the Foxes in front after linking up with former Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez to round off an intricate corner-kick routine.

Bruno restored parity just after the half-hour mark when he flicked home from close range after Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel failed to take control of a loose ball inside his six-yard box.

The Brazilian then set off excuberant celebrations in all four corners of St James Park when he rounded off some fine approach play from Joe Willock to head home the winning goal in the fourth minute of injury-time.

Newcastle World takes a look back at the celebratory scenes that will live long in the memory for the Gallowgate faithful.
