Newcastle United are closing in on Premier League safety and their focus has quickly turned towards the summer transfer window.
Some of world football’s most weird and wonderful names have been linked with a move to Tyneside ever since the PIF-led consortium completed their protracted takeover of the Magpies in October last year.
With Premier League survival at the top of their agenda, Newcastle spent around £90million during the transfer window to add Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Matt Targett, Bruno Guimaraes and Chris Wood to Eddie Howe’s squad.
Results have improved and another hectic transfer window is expected to be played out on Tyneside at the end of the season as the Magpies hierarchy look to take the next step in their ambitious plans for the club.
It is not known what outlay Howe will be afforded but it is understood the Magpies are already active and talking to transfer targets in a move to strike quickly once the current campaign comes to a close.

The England captain was linked with a move last summer but could the appointment of Antonio Conte persuade him to remain with Spurs. Manchester City are the favourites if Kane decides to leave.

Manchester rivals City and United are joint-favourites to sign the England midfielder should he choose to leave West Ham before the end of the August window.
3. Romelu Lukaku 16/1
Romelu Lukaku’s future at Chelsea remains up in the air and PSG, Inter and Spurs lead the betting. Newcastle are fourth favourites to land the Belgian frontman.
4. Robert Lewandowski 14/1
The Bayern legend is set to leave the Bundesliga this summer and some of Europe’s biggest clubs sit above Newcastle in the odds.
