

The 14 Newcastle United players who weren’t spotted on the first day of pre-season
Newcastle United reported back for pre-season training on Friday morning as preparations for the 2022/23 Premier League season got underway.
Images released by the Magpies pictured the likes of Matt Targett - a £15million permanent signing from Aston Villa - Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Dan Burn and Joelinton returning.
However, there were a number of players missing, the majority of which are set to link up with the group on Wednesday - as revealed by Eddie Howe - after their international involvement in June.
Howe told NUFCTV: “We plan to get them back in on Wednesday.
“I gave them extended time off due to their exertions in the summer. We look forward to seeing them.”
There were, however, some players not spotted in images released by the club, despite being overlookeinternational duty last month.
We pick out 14 players not pictured on the first day of pre-season:

1. Nick Pope
The £12m summer signing from Burnley has been handed extra time off after being on international duty with England in June.

2. Emil Krafth
