The Magpies’ recent takeover has seen them linked with some of the biggest names in football - some more realistic than others.

After the rumours of the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Marc-Andre ter Stegen joining the club died down, Newcastle have expressed interest in a number of stars to help them avoid relegation.

Keylor Navas

RMC Sport reported that Newcastle contacted PSG earlier this week about the availability of goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, however were quickly shut down by the French club.

The Costa Rica international has won league titles with both PSG and Real Madrid, while also claiming three Champions League winner medals with the Spanish outfit.

Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier is one of the best players a team in the relegation zone could ask for and Newcastle fans will hope the defender can play an important part in saving their Premier League status this season.

Diego Carlos

Diego Carlos has looked extremely likely to join Newcastle this week, with Sky Sports News claiming they are ‘moving closer’ to a deal for the centre-back.

The 28-year-old has been an ever-present figure in Sevilla’s backline, winning the Europa League in his first season with the club.

Carlos was previously linked with moves to Manchester City and Liverpool.

Niklas Sule

Newcastle were linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule, with the defender’s contract expiring in the summer.

Chelsea and Barcelona have also been rumoured to be interested.

Robin Gosens

Newcastle United have been linked with Atalanta’s Robin Gosens this week and reports in Italy have claimed they are prepared to triple the wing-backs wages.
