Newcastle United’s co-owners Jamie Reuben and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have again taken to social media to poke fun at each other in light of the Magpies’ latest Premier League win.

United claimed their sixth win in seven games in the top flight last night as they saw of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton 2-1 at St Mary’s. After Stuart Armstrong had given the hosts the lead, goals from Chris Wood and Bruno Guimaraes ensured Eddie Howe’s men continued their charge up the Premier League table.

And as is customary these days, win, lose or draw, Ghodoussi and Reuben let their feelings be known on Twitter.

First there was this one, sent prior to kick-off.

Read it how you will, but many saw this as a direct response to Reubens links to Chelsea in recent days.

After Roman Abramovich put the Blues up for sale due to his links to the crisis in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin, reports in the US claimed Reuben, a director at Newcastle, could launch a takeover bid at Stamford Bridge.

The came this hilarious response by Reuben, post-match. Loving the Stone Island, Mehrdad.

And so the ‘bants’ continued, as Ghodoussi jibed back at Reuben with this post...

Finally, it looked to be game, set and match to Reuben, of RB Sports & Media, as he takes aim at Ghodoussi’s ‘tactical’ analysis.

All of this is a far cry from the radio silence that used to emanate from the Magpies’ boardroom in the near 15 years of Mike Ashley’s reign at St James’ Park.

Ghodoussi, with wife Amanda Staveley, and Reuben were sat side-by-side in the stands in the south coast last night.
