The intriguing Premier League table based only on Eddie Howe’s time at Newcastle United

And breathe! The 2021/22 Premier League campaign is over. And in many ways, Newcastle United probably didn’t want it to end.

The Magpies’ turnaround since the turn of the year has been nothing short of remarkable. Only Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have statistically performed better.

Having not won any of their opening 14 games, United have somehow gone from prime relegation candidates to surviving at a canter.

And in the eyes of the supporters, that is down to one man, and that is head coach Eddie Howe.

A 2-1 victory at Burnley on Sunday in the final game of the season saw United seal an 11th placed finish - two points outside the top 10 - and claim their best top-flight points total (49) in eight years.

It has left any fans left wondering, what if the season had started when Howe arrived in November?

Here, NewcastleWorld takes a look at where Newcastle would have finished in the Premier League table - if the season started when Howe arrived and ended on May 22.
