The nine Newcastle United players 'set' to leave this summer amid contract announcement

Fabian Schar is the latest Newcastle United player to sign a contract extension. NewcastleWorld takes a look at when his teammates' deals expire.

Fabian Schar has become the latest player to extend his contract at Newcastle United.

The two-year extension Schar signed in 2022 was due to expire at the end of the campaign but the Magpies announced on Monday the Switzerland international will be staying put until 2025.

The 32-year-old moved to St James' Park from Deportivo La Coruna in 2018 for a bargain £3million and has gone on to make 169 appearances, scoring 11 times.

"I've said it a lot of times, but I feel really at home here," said Schar. I feel so comfortable living in Newcastle; I love the city and I love playing for the club and the incredible fans. I can't say enough how much I love them, and how much their support means to me.

"Playing for this team where I feel so comfortable with all my team-mates and with the coaching staff feels really like a family for me, so I'm really grateful to stay here a bit longer and hopefully to have some more exciting times."

Despite the Schar news, Newcastle still have a number of players out of contract this summer. Here, NewcastleWorld takes a look at when each player's current deal expires:
