The official reason why Tino Livramento misses Newcastle United's Premier League clash v Man City

Tino Livramento missed Newcastle United's Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Newcastle United were without Tino Livramento for the Premier League clash against Manchester City (kick-off 5:30pm).

With Dan Burn starting last weekend's Tyne-Wear derby win over Sunderland at left-back, Livramento was set to feature on the bench for the visit of Man City.

However, United boss Eddie Howe was unable to call upon the 21-year-old after he was left out of the matchday squad because of illness.

With 11 senior players ruled out against Pep Guardiola's side, Howe again named a depleted bench, consisting of Loris Karius, Mark Gillespie, Paul Dummett, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie, Emil Krafth, Lewis Hall, Alex Murphy and Ben Parkinson.

Martin Dubravka started in goal for the Magpies behind a back four of Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Burn. In midfield, Lewis Miley came in for the injured Joelinton, and played alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff.

In attack, Alexander Isak led the line with Miguel Almiron and Anthony Gordon either side.
