Newcastle United hope to have Alexander Isak available for Sunday’s Premier League clash at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Sweden international is due on Tyneside later this morning (Thursday) to undergo medical tests and finalise his club record move from Real Sociedad.

Supporters will no doubt be keen to see the 22-year-old, who will become the club’s fourth summer signing, involved for the trip to Molineux.

However, in order for that to happen, the Magpies must register Isak by a certain date and time:

What is the Premier League deadline?

Paperwork would need to be completed by 12pm of the previous working day.

So, that means Thursday noon for Friday night matches and Friday midday for all weekend and Monday matches.

Rule U.23. in the Premier League Handbook states:

“Subject to the provisions of Rule V.1, the deadline for receipt by the Board of all duly completed documents required by these Rules to effect the registration of a Player shall be 12 noon on the last Working Day before the date of the first League Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play, save that the international transfer certificate and evidence of eligibility to take up employment in the United Kingdom (in both cases if applicable) may be provided thereafter (but must be provided before the Player is eligible to play for a Club in a League Match).

Newcastle face Wolves at Molineux on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off.
