Bruno Guimaraes starts against Crystal Palace in an unchanged Newcastle United starting XI.

The 24-year-old was expected to miss the game in South London after he left the pitch in tears during the Magpies’ 1-0 win over Fulham last Sunday.

Guimaraes had rolled his ankle, prompting fears he’d done something serious, but head coach Eddie Howe revealed his scan results during Friday’s pre-match press conference.

And the Brazilian has recovered in time to start in South London.

Missing from the squad is Karl Darlow, Loris Karius, Paul Dummett and Ryan Fraser, while Emil Krafth (ACL), Matt Targett (heel) and Jonjo Shelvey (calf) are ruled out through injury.

Newcastle United XI: Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes, Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock, Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, Callum Wilson.

Subs: Martin Dubravka, Jamaal Lascelles, Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Jamal Lewis, Alexander Isak, Javier Manquillo, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson.
