The six players 'set' to leave Newcastle United as first transfer update given

When do the contracts of Newcastle United's current squad come to an end?

Newcastle United are facing some major calls over the future of several long-serving players over the coming weeks and months.

Although a lot of the talk has been of possible new additions to Eddie Howe's squad during the summer transfer window, there are a number of existing members of the Magpies ranks that are approaching the fina months of their current deals at St James Park.

Two United stars have already earned themselves new contract extensions after defensive duo Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth both penned new one-year deals to extend their time on Tyneside.

Speaking after putting pen-to-paper, Swedish full-back Krafth told the club website: “I am delighted to extend my time here and commit to Newcastle United for another year. Personally, it’s been a journey of ups and downs since I joined the club, but I feel at home here and I want to repay the faith and support shown in me, especially during my recovery from injury. It’s a really exciting time for the club on and off the pitch and I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to continue being a part of that and hopefully help the team finish the season strongly.”

However, there remains a number of other United stars with question marks over their own futures at the club.
