Eddie Howe’s men can smell European football on the horizon - a feat that some had written off a month ago. Winning back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since December has propelled Newcastle into pole position for a Europa League spot.

But not every Magpies supporter was in fine fettle at full time. One fan, Pete, was fuming on talkSPORT - with Gabby Agbonlahor and Jamie O’Hara bearing the brunt of his rage.

The incensed fan labelled Tottenham “the Sunderland of London” - a dig at their trophy cabinet compared to other sides in the capital. He also slammed Spurs for their role in the European Super League fiasco, while backing Aston Villa to pip them in the top-four race.

Agbonlahor and O’Hara were in hysterics with laughter, struggling to keep their composure while Pete ranted. Both egged the Toon supporter on - suggesting Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak should be sold this summer.

Football fans across the country were also creased on social media. One comment read: “Somebody go get Pete a pint of beer for his blood pressure.”

Another labelled the caller as “embarrassing”, with others questioning his anger given the emphatic scoreline earlier in the day. Watch the video here, skipping to 5:45, and cast your own verdict.
