Newcastle United’s co-owners Merhdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben took to Twitter shortly after full-time celebrating the Magpies’ narrow one-nil victory over Aston Villa.
Kieran Trippier scored a second free-kick in as many games to secure Newcastle a third straight Premier League victory.

Trippier was, however, forced off with an injury after having his foot stamped on just two minutes after the second half restart.
Eddie Howe revealed in his post-match press conference that the full-back has gone to hospital for an x-ray, with the hope being that he hasn’t broken a bone.

Despite their captain’s absence, the Toon dug deep and hung for a second win in a week, giving them much-needed breathing space in the scrap for relegation, leaving them four points clear of 17th placed Norwich City with a game in-hand.
Ghodoussi, who wasn’t at the game today, was overjoyed with the victory.
He said: “So proud of this team!! Incredible resilience in the end… a well deserved win.
