Newcastle United’s co-owners Merhdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben took to Twitter shortly after full-time celebrating the Magpies’ narrow one-nil victory over Aston Villa.
Kieran Trippier scored a second free-kick in as many games to secure Newcastle a third straight Premier League victory.

Eddie Howe revealed in his post-match press conference that the full-back has gone to hospital for an x-ray, with the hope being that he hasn’t broken a bone.
Despite their captain’s absence, the Toon dug deep and hung for a second win in a week, giving them much-needed breathing space in the scrap for relegation, leaving them four points clear of 17th placed Norwich City with a game in-hand.
Ghodoussi, who wasn’t at the game today, was overjoyed with the victory.

“Gutted I wasn’t there to celebrate with you all.”
Reuben echoed the thoughts of Ghodoussi, highlighting the importance of this recent victory.
“What a result – what a performance – what a team,” he said.
“So proud of us.”
Newcastle travel to a top-four chasing West Ham next weekend, looking to put more daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
