The 22-year-old comes with a fine reputation after a productive spell with La Liga club Real Sociedad and he has also shone in international football with Sweden.
Isak has now replaced Brazilian star Joelinton as United’s record signing after the Magpies hierachy decided to pay a reported £60million to bring the striker to St James Park.
And the official announcement had barely been shared across a number of outlets before one legendary striker gave his approval to the man that will follow in his footsteps by leading the Magpies frontline.

Sharing the club’s Twitter announcement, United’s all-time record goalscorer Alan Shearer wished Isak good luck and used an emoji to reflect the famous celebration Magpies supporters saw on 206 occasions during his time with his boyhood club.
And fresh from what he described as ‘a stressful day’ on his Instagram account on Thursday, co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi also welcomed the club’s latest addition as he joins ‘the family’ at St James Park.
