Newcastle United target Dominik Szoboszlai has done nothing to shut down talk of a summer move.

RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai is said to have emerged as a top target for Newcastle United this summer.

The Magpies sent scouts to watch the Hungarian midfielder against Werder Bremen in midweek as he scored a 96th-minute winner. He was also among the scorers as Leipzig beat Bayern Munich 3-1 on Saturday.

Following speculation this week, Szoboszlai was asked about his future when speaking to the media at the Allianz Arena and bluntly replied: “Next question”.

His response comes just days after the 22-year-old cast doubt over his future in Germany.

“I didn’t say that [staying at Leizpig],” he said. “We still have three games. For those three games, I’m definitely still at RB Leipzig. I want to play in the Champions League We will see what happens after the summer.”

As it stands, Leipzig are on course for Champions League qualification by sitting third in the Bundesliga table. Newcastle can offer the same incentive should they claim one point from their remaining two Premier League game.

Szoboszlai has a £61million release clause in his contract and according to Sky Germany, Newcastle are showing a strong interest.

While speculation has been rife of the Magpies’ interest, the player has done little to dampen that when it comes to his social media activity.

Taking to Instagram after United’s 4-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, Szoboszlai ‘liked’ a post by a popular social media account - 433 - who wrote Newcastle are just “ONE win away from CL qualification”.

Szoboszlai, who has found success at both RB clubs Salzburg and Leipzig, has scored nine goals and provided 13 assists this campaign.
