Popular Newcastle United fan group Wor Flags have revealed they’re set for a St James’ Park return - and they’ve got big plans in the pipeline.

The group, famed for their incredible flag and banner displays spilling out from the Gallowgate End, took the stand to stop their shows of support when Mike Ashley allowed Rafa Benitez to leave the club.

And now, with Ashley out, they are set to come back - with Tottenham Hotspur post-international break in their sights.

“We will be back for Spurs,” said Wor Flags’ Thomas Concannon, whose last display was against Liverpool in May 2019, Benitez’s final home game of his tenure.

“It might be a bit short notice to get something new painted up but we will try our best. Either way we’ve got plenty of flags we can use to show our support for the new regime.

“We’ve made big plans, lots of them, in the hope this day would come - and fans can expect a brand new ‘welcome to Newcastle’ and ‘we’re back’ display in the not too distant future.”
