West Ham star Michail Antonio would not be interested in a move to Newcastle United this summer - if the opportunity were to arise.

On the latest episode of the Footballer’s Football Podcast - which also features Magpies No.9 Callum Wilson - Antonio was asked by a member of the public if a potential move to St James’ Park would pique his interest.

The 32-year-old answered no and revealed he is happy playing for the Hammers - a response that prompted a bit of banter between Antonio and Wilson.

Here’s the full transcript:

Question: “Newcastle are currently after adding a new striker. Would Michail Antonio be up for the move? Would Wilson welcome him with open arms if that happened?”

Wilson: “I’m after a new boot boy if you want to come up...”

Antonio: “He definitely wouldn’t open his arms for me because he’d be sitting on the bench, obviously.

Wilson: “I’d welcome him with open arms and happily watch him chase every single ball in the finishing drill when he puts it about 10 yards out down the lane!

“I’d welcome you to the club, for sure!”

Antonio: “Not right now to be fair. Right now, I’m happy at West Ham, I’m enjoying my time here, playing week-in, week-out, scoring goals, playing in Europe - new experiences for me.

“I wouldn’t be up for it right now, no.”

Wilson: “It’s just as well Newcastle don’t want him! We’ve got a goalscorer already. We don’t need Michail.

Antonio: “You can tell he’s feeling the heat already! I’m not coming, it’s fine.”
