Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley has reacted to the club’s record-breaking victory at Sheffield United on Sunday.
The Magpies’ 8-0 win at Bramall Lane marked their biggest-ever league away victory and also equalled their record Premier League win when they beat the Blades’ bitter rivals by the same scoreline at St James’ Park in September 1999.

As a result, Newcastle became the first-ever Premier League team to have eight different scorers in a match. As revealed by Longstaff via Sky Sports News, Staveley entered the away dressing room at full-time to inform Eddie Howe and his players of their record-breaking efforts.
Taking to Instagram after the game, Staveley said: “Incredible performance today. Could not be prouder of this. We Are United.”
While it was a historic day for Newcastle on the pitch, it was a sad day off it. Before the match, Staveley was among those to pay their respect to Maddy Cusack, the Sheffield United Women midfielder who sadly passed away aged 27 earlier this week.

“Honoured to have paid tribute to the beautiful and talented Maddie Cusack today,” said Staveley. “Thank you to @lisahooker99 for the arrangement!”
