What Will Osula said about Newcastle United supporters as new chant heard at St James' Park
The 21-year-old joined from Sheffield United in a deal worth £15million in the summer but has had to remain very patient.

Hide AdOsula was an unused substitute in the Magpies’ opening four matches before coming on as a late substitute in the 3-1 defeat at Fulham. He didn’t make it off the bench against Manchester City seven days later but got his chance to impress versus AFC Wimbledon.
Indeed, the Denmark under-21s international played a full game at St James’ Park won 1-0 courtesy to Fabian Schar’s first-half penalty.
“Very, very happy to be out there tonight and get my full debut for the club,” said Osula. “I am very grateful and thankful to the gaffer, all the staff and my teammates. Happy to be through to the next round.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said afterwards that Osula displayed his “pace and power”, particularly in the second-half. There was also a moment when Osula was loudly cheered by the home crowd following his relentless attempt to win the ball back from Wimbledon.
He already has his own chant with Newcastle fans adopting the hit song “Tequila” and changing the word to “Osula”.

Hide AdAsked about his St James’ Park bow, Osula said: “Yeah, very important. All the fans were there singing. It was a great feeling and atmosphere. I loved it.
“I thought I did OK. I feel like we played good as a team. Obviously it would have been nice to get on the scoresheet but most importantly we’re through to the next round.”
Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are currently sidelined for Newcastle but Osula is not yet deemed as Premier League ready by Howe. That means Anthony Gordon - like he did against Man City - is in line to lead the attack at former club Everton this weekend.

Hide AdOsula is content with his current situation on Tyneside but hopes more playing opportunities will follow.
He said: “It’s been good. I’ve been getting used to the playing style and the way we play football here. I’m very happy with training and I’ve been training well. I’m happy to get my opportunity.
“Hopefully I get some more minutes and play my part.”
