Where will the Carabao Cup semi-finals be played?

Unlike the FA Cup, semi final-matches in the Carabao Cup are not played at Wembley Stadium. Instead they are played over two legs, home and away, similar to UEFA Champions League knockout stage ties.

That means one leg of Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup semi-final ties will be played at St James’ Park and the other at the home ground of the team they are drawn against. The order of which team play at home in the first leg is determined by which team comes out first in the draw.

There is no ‘Away Goals’ rule in the Carabao Cup semi-finals. That means that, if the aggregate score is level after the second leg, the match will go to extra time (the first stage of the competition that extra time is active) and then penalties if needed.
