‘When he leaves’ - Simon Jordan reveals Newcastle United manager ‘swap deal’ in 2026
Thomas Tuchel was appointed Three Lions manager in October following a three-month search. Speculation mounted on Newcastle United boss Howe, who played down England talk throughout the summer and early into the campaign.
Tuchel left Bayern Munich earlier this year and was viewed by FA chiefs as the man to drag England over the line in major tournaments. Debate raged about the German’s nationality but the public have since warmed to the idea given his credentials.

But with Tuchel penning an 18-month contract until the World Cup, that gives Howe, facing pressure for the first time on Tyneside, a possible exit strategy. Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has tipped the Toon boss to take the England gig in 2026 - with Tuchel possibly heading to St James’ Park.
“I sat down with Eddie Howe recently,” he wrote in his Daily Mail column. “A very nice fellow. A capable Premier League manager? Absolutely.
“He won’t be short of offers if and when he leaves St James’ Park at some stage. By the time Newcastle are able to fulfil the owner’s dream of being a major force, it might be too late for Howe and having spent time with him I do hope that is not the case.
