Sandro Tonali will be on Tyneside on Monday to complete his £52million move to Newcastle United, NewcastleWorld understands.
A deal for Tonali was first agreed last Thursday when Magpies sporting director Dan Ashworth and head of recruitment Steve Nickson flew to Milan to hold face-to-face talks.

It was there Tonali underwent the first part of his medical and agreed personal terms on a six-year contract, worth a reported £6.8m plus bonuses. That is set to make the 23-year-old Newcastle’s highest earner.
The plan was always for Tonali to fly to Newcastle and finalise his switch once his participation in the European Championships was over. It is, however, a surprise it has come this early after Italy were eliminated at the group stage following their defeat to Norway on Wednesday night.
Tonali will complete the remaining technicalities of his move and pose for photos at St James’ Park ahead of being unveiled as Newcastle United’s first summer signing.

The Italian’s imminent arrival has brought lots of excitement to Tyneside as head coach Eddie Howe strengthens his squad ahead of a return to Champions League football.
After joining from Brescia in 2020, Tonali made 130 appearances for Milan, helping the club win their first Scudetto in 11 years as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2007 last season.
Tonali has also been capped by Italy 14 times, all of which have come under former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.
