Newcastle United will play their first major final since 1999 on Sunday in the Carabao Cup.
With excitment building, fans are hungry to see a change of fortunes after the night the Magpies lost 2-0 to Manchester in the FA Cup 23 years ago.

5. Left-back: Didier Domi
The Frenchman played for Newcastle from 1998-2001, before returning to PSG where he had made his senior debut. Domi is now a pundit for beIN Sports in the Middle East and works for the PSG Academy.
6. Right midfield: Rob Lee
Lee made 267 appearances for Newcastle between 1992 and 2002. In the later years of his career he played for Derby, West Ham and Wycombe Wanderers. He now works as a pundit and was inducted into the Newcastle Hall of Fame in 2019.
7. Centre midfield: Dietmar Hamann
The 99’ final was Hamann’s final appearance for Newcastle after only being at the club a year. The German then joined Liverpool. After retiring in 2011, he became a coach for Leicester City before managing Stockport County. Hamann now works as a pundit.
8. Centre midfield: Gary Speed
Speed spent six years in a Newcastle shirt, playing between 1998-2004. The Welshman then played for Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United. In 2010 he was announced as manager of Sheffield United before taking the top job for the Wales national team. Speed died by suicide in 2011.
