Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez is set to miss the opening month of the Premier League season due to a knee injury.
The Mexico international picked up the injury during Saturday’s pre-season friendly 3-0 victory over Turkish outfit Besiktas.

Jimenez has been assessed this week and according to The Telegraph, there are fears he could miss up to eight games.


While it is bad news for Wolves, it will come as welcomed news to Newcastle United and Leeds fans.

Leeds host Bruno Lage’s side at Elland Road on the opening weekend before Wolves make the trip to Tyneside at the end of August.
Wolves are short of attacking options too after loaning Fabio Silva to Anderlecht for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.
Jimenez, after recovering from a career-threatening skull injury, finished as Wolves’ joint top scorer in the top-flight last year.
