Several Magpies stars went away with their respective countries during the two-week international break, all of whom are understood to have come through unscathed.
Their report cards will have delighted Eddie Howe too with Alexander Isak bagging three goals for Sweden while Anthony Gordon started back-to-back games for England. Lewis Hall also claimed two assists for the under-21s.
But it was Sandro Tonali’s performances for Italy that will have caught the eye the most. The midfielder completed two 90 minute displays in the space of three days with his assist in the 3-1 win in France going viral on social media.
With the 24-year-old showcasing his quality and endurance, Howe is faced with the difficult decision whether or not to start him at Molineux today. Fabian Schar is also back after his three-match ban, although Emil Krafth has impressed in his absence.
Newcastle are hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the new campaign having collected seven points from a possible nine in the Premier League and advanced into the third round of the FA Cup.
Wolves, meanwhile, remain winless in the league and were batted 6-2 by Chelsea in their last home game.
